Les Thuiles Cabin

Alpine cabin with an area of ​​173 m2, built on two levels, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, work space (office), creative workshop, kitchen and a spacious living room with vide-sejour. Generous spaces, highlighted by the beauty of wood, ideal for vacations in the mountain residence. The outdoor terrace is uncovered and is made of Podreg model exterior deck boards, anti-slip profiles, 40 mm thick. After entering, we enter the living space which is located in the extension of the open kitchen. In the south side a space with large glazed surfaces is created for the relaxation area.

We emphasize that our achievements mean solid wood cabins, built by carpenters in the traditional way, not to be confused with a light wooden structure (timber frame, framing, wood frame, sandwich panels, American system, etc.), in which only the pillars and uprights are made of wood, the rest is wall covering material such as paneling, drywall or OSB, between which the insulation is installed.

The ceiling is made with exposed beams, 21 mm thick paneling, over which comes 200 mm mineral wool insulation. The roof includes the truss structure consisting of 100/200 mm rafters, 140/90 mm exposed beas, 200/70 mm insulated double rafters, 40/60 mm lath and the roof covering (anti-condensation foil, tiles or sheet metal provided by the beneficiary).

The pictures above show the cabin with a terrace. Based on an additional estimate, a terrace can also be built, which includes the roof in continuation of the cabin, interior view in softwood paneling, 150/150 mm posts, anti-slip profiled deck on one side and a railing made with a handrail and 40/40 mm vertical fence elements. The terrace is made of anti-slip profiled boards, wood treated with class 4 biodegradability (autoclaved).

The floor of the house is made of 21 mm thick softwood flooring, except for the bathrooms and kitchen where the installation of ceramic tiles is provided, by the beneficiary.

The interior joinery consists of Eco Euro Doors (delivered without a door frame).

In photos shown below, the beneficiary opted for a passive energy efficiency system with 150 mm basalt wool insulation, complementary 50 mm thick encapsulated air space, interior paneling finish 21 mm thick, 150 mm wide, model #Podreg (as seen in the photos shown). This hybrid structure wall system generates an energy efficient cottage, but is subject to a complementary estimate.
