Useful information about Carcassonne house
The solid wooden house intended for permanent residence, made of 100/200 mm double profiled beams, with a traditional structure and mostly glazed facades, has three bedrooms, a spacious living room, with integrated kitchen and bathroom. The plan is organized according to the simplicity of a wooden house: after entering, we enter the living space which is located in the extension of the open kitchen. On the south side, a space with large glazed surfaces is created for relaxation.
Optionally, if an energy-efficient cabin is desired, a quote can be provided for additional work with a wall structure with additional insulation.
We emphasize that our builds mean solid wood cabins, not to be confused with a light wooden structure (timber frame type, wood frame, sandwich panels, American system, etc.), in which only the pillars and uprights are made of wood, the rest is wall covering material such as paneling, drywall or OSB, between which the insulation is installed.
The ceiling is made of 200/100 mm exposed beams, over which 21 mm thick softwood paneling is mounted (see picture below), followed by a vapor diffusion membrane, over which 200 mm mineral wool insulation will be placed. Based on an additional estimate, the attic can be arranged as a storage space by creating a wooden floor (dimensioned and dried planks 23 mm thick + 100/45 mm wooden mounting support).
The floor of the house is made of 21 mm thick softwood flooring, except for the bathrooms and kitchen where the installation of ceramic tiles is provided, by the beneficiary.
The interior joinery consists of Eco Euro Doors (delivered without a door frame).
